This morning I am reading Luke 2. It occured to me that the great news of Jesus was announced while the shepherds were watching their flocks at "night" - and isn't it just like God to reveal His glory in the darkest hour?
God chose to reveal Himself to the ordinary, ragtag, "everyday" people at night. When the community was sleeping and when "no one was watching", God showed up. I mean really, do you ever wonder what the shepherds were doing, or what they talking about or possibly thinking about just prior to God's glory interrupting their workday?
The glory of God brought them to their knees with fear. So, the angel told them not to be afraid because he had good news for ALL of the people. Even the shepherds. Even me. Even you. That night, everything changed.
